In the previous articles, we introduced in detail the commonly used accessories of incubator shaker, such as erlenmeyer flasks, various types of conical flask clamps, and silicone pads. Today we will focus on test tubes, centrifuge tubes, and various test tube rack accessories, providing you with comprehensive guidelines and selection suggestions from different materials, capacities, and adaptability, helping you choose the best accessories according to your experimental needs to ensure the efficiency and safety of the experimental process.
These accessories will provide more convenient support for your constant incubator shaker operation and further improve the stability and accuracy of the experiment.
Test tube:
Test tube is a kind of equipment commonly used in chemical experiments, suitable as a reaction container for small volume of reagents. It is cylindrical, usually made of glass, with one end open and the other end closed in a hemispherical shape. Test tubes have a variety of mouth diameter and lengths, have strong corrosion resistance, and can be used for experiments at room temperature or under heating conditions. Common types include ordinary test tubes, supported test tubes, and centrifugal test tubes, which can meet different experimental needs.
Centrifuge tube:
Centrifuge tube is a tube sample container, usually equipped with a screw cap. The range is big including large centrifuge tubes (500mL, 250mL), ordinary centrifuge tubes (50mL, 15mL) and microcentrifuge tubes (2mL, 1.5mL, 0.65mL, 0.2mL), etc. In shaking incubator culture, ordinary centrifuge tubes are the most widely used. In recent years, more and more experiments use large centrifuge tubes instead of Erlenmeyer flasks, which is convenient for subsequent direct centrifugation and easy to obtain supernatant, thus eliminating the operation step of transferring samples from flasks to centrifuge tubes.
For the above culture containers, we have equipped various test tube rack accessories to fix:
test tube rack:
Models are differentiated according to the hole diameter. There are five specifications: Ф14, Ф16, Ф18, Ф22, and Ф30, corresponding to test tubes or centrifuge tubes with a capacity of 5ml, 10ml, 15ml, 20ml, and 50ml respectively.
Silent test tube rack:
Silicone ring petals are added to the holes of ordinary test tube racks to reduce impact when shaking, but there is resistance when taking and placing test tubes.
Adjustable tube rack:
The tube inclination angle can be adjusted, which is more conducive to oxygen dissolution during shaking. It is also divided into two types: ordinary and damped.
Stainless steel test tube rack:
Mainly used for large shaker to culture 50mL and 15mL centrifuge tubes in large quantities, all with rubber strips on the edge of the hole for damping.
Centrifuge tube rocking rack:
250ml and 500ml, protected by rubber ring.
Centrifuge tube column fixture shaker:
You can place more 250ml or 500ml centrifuge bottles on the shaker, or even cover the entire shaker. Each limit column also has a rubber ring to reduce the impact during shaking.
In addition to the accessories mentioned above, the clamps used for centrifuge tubes also include the multifunctional spring rack introduced in the previous article. When the frequency of use is low or the centrifuge tubes and test tubes have various specifications, the multifunctional spring rack is also an ideal choice, which can flexibly adapt to centrifuge tubes of different specifications and improve the convenience of the experiment.
In next article, we will focus on the culture plate accessories of the constant incubator shaker. Welcome to follow Welso and contact us if you have any question.
